- Aloha! I never get
tired of the variety of landscapes that are offered along Hawaiian
roads. This is especially true on the Big Island. I took
this picture along Crater Rim Road in Hawai'i Volcanoes National
Park. The road cuts through a large pāhoehoe
lava field adjacent to the Halema'uma'u Crater. There was no
one around while I was there. It felt wonderful to have the
sun shining on my face, and the omnipresence of silence was
staggering. Enjoy!
