'Ama'u

06/24/2010 - Aloha!  I wish I knew my Hawaiian ferns better.  I took a picture of this fern, which I believe to be 'Ama'u, near the Thurston Lava Tube in Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park.  It is a native fern, and it is mostly found just around the Kīlauea area of the Big Island.  I was hiking along a trail, and its vibrant color and repetitious pattern caught my eye.  Enjoy!
