- Aloha! The reward at the end of the Kalauao Valley Trail is
suppose to be a beautiful waterfall. However, an El Niño
winter has left O'ahu unusually dry and cool. When we reached
the end of the trail, Kalauao Stream was nearly dry, with only a
trickle of water sliding down the eroded rock face. However,
we did not leave disappointed. The trail was a lot of fun, and
it provided ample opportunity to listen to all types of elusive
forest birds. Enjoy!
