06/26/2009 - Aloha!  At the National Arboretum in Washington DC, one of the more unusual sights is the historic U.S. Capitol Building columns standing erect in an open field.  They were originally part of the East Portico of the Capitol Building, but were retired and refurbished to become a part of a memorial.  The columns have an amazing amount of detail in them, and I was definitely surprised to see them amongst trees and plants from around the world.   Enjoy!
