- Aloha! I have been to Makapu'u several times, but this was the
first time I wandered south through the adjacent field and around Pu'u
Kipahulu. The trail had a gradual incline to it, and the grass
was green and lush from the recent winter rains. When I got to
the top of the hill, I was able to see several whales as they swam in
the channel between O'ahu and Moloka'i. Enjoy!
