Patrick, Pizza, & Random Hobo

04/03/2006 - Aloha!  I know I have been slacking on the Albania photos, but they will have to wait one more day.  The reason being, the story behind this photo is just too good to pass up.  As you can see from the photo above, we have two happy individuals promoting a very large pizza.  Here is their story of strive, hunger, and ultimate happiness.

While in Denver a week ago, Patrick (good friend from Kansas City featured on the left-hand side of this photo) and I decided we would go to a Grace Potter concert after the conference let out.  We asked the hotel concierge where a good place was to get a quick bite to eat.  She recommended Anthony's Pizza & Pasta.  She stated that the pizza was delicious, and that it was on the way to the concert venue.  However, she recommended that we take a taxi from the pizza parlor to the venue, because, "it was not a good neighborhood."  So, Patrick and I wandered over to the pizza joint, still unaffected by the concierge's scare tactics.

Arriving at Anthony's Pizza, we were quickly informed that they were about to close in 5 minutes.  Patrick and I stated that we would each like a piece of pizza.  The guy next to the pizza oven shouted out, "...we are about to close in 5 minutes.  How about I sell you a whole 20" pie for $5?"  After no deliberation, we immediately responded simultaneously "You bet your white ass!"  The only deal was we had to get out of the parlor within 15 minutes so the boys could clean up and go home.  Therefore, after eating one slice each, he decided to exit the pizza parlor and hit the streets.  Not heeding the concierge's recommendations, we migrated ourselves on foot in the general direction of the concert venue.  Our strategy of walking with hot pizza prompted intellectual brilliance on our behalf.

The situation was simple, to avoid any street problems, we would hand out piping hot pizza to any bum, hobo, or drug addict that needed a hunger fix.  By doing so, we would fatten up the Denver street population, gain smiles upon our faces, and proceed merrily (and safely) to the concert venue.  It worked, and here is proof.  Enjoy!
